Intelligent Transaction Scheduling via Conflict Prediction in OLTP DBMS [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Current architectures for main-memory online transaction processing (OLTP) database management systems (DBMS) typically use random scheduling to assign transactions to threads. This approach achieves uniform load across threads but it ignores the likelihood of conflicts between transactions.

Solution‐Shearing of Highly Smooth Ion‐Gel Thin Films: Facilitating the Deposition of Organic Semiconductors for Ion‐Gated Organic Field Effect Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
A straightforward method is introduced to produce ion‐gel films with very low surface roughness by employing a solution‐shearing coating process. These ion‐gel films permit the growth of crystalline thin films of various small molecule organic semiconductor molecules directly on top of the ion‐gel layer, thereby enabling “inverted” small molecule ...

Highly Active IrRuOx/MnOx Electrocatalysts with Ultralow Anode PGM Demand in Proton Exchange Membrane Electrolyzers

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
MnOx‐supported IrRuOx exhibits outstanding OER performance in both liquid electrolytes and real cell environments. The MnOx not only enhances the dispersion of IrRuOx but also induces a compressive strain effect. The incorporation of Ru leads to surface reconstruction.

Maximum Impact of Ionic Strength on Acid‐Catalyzed Reaction Rates Induced by a Zeolite Microporous Environment

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Volume 62, Issue 3, January 16, 2023., 2023
The confined hydronium ions in zeolite create an intraporous ionic environment, which increases acid‐catalyzed reaction rates in a volcanic pattern at both saturated and low concentrations of substrates in the pores. Abstract The intracrystalline ionic environment in microporous zeolite can remarkably modify the excess chemical potential of adsorbed ...

Authenticating Transactions using Bank-Verified Biometrics [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2014
In this paper, we propose a scheme by which banks can collect and verify biometric data eg, fingerprints, directly from their customers and use it to authenticate their transactions made through PoS/ ATM/ online console. We propose building a network of computers called BioNet to allow such transactions to be made online across the world.
