Viral antibodies in recent onset, nonorganic psychoses: Correspondence with symptomatic severity

Biological Psychiatry, 1994
A parallel of generalized viral infection with psychiatric symptoms has been reported in nonorganic psychotic disorders. The patients concerned had been ill for long periods and some of them had been readmitted. In order to determine the presence of viral infection at the very onset of the psychosis, antibodies in blood and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) to

Spatial correspondence between onsets and offsets of stimuli and responses

European Journal of Cognitive Psychology, 2006
The Simon effect denotes faster responses when the task-irrelevant stimulus position corresponds to response position than when it does not. A common explanation is that a spatial stimulus code is formed automatically and activates a spatially corresponding response code.

Response to: ‘Correspondence on ‘Onset of rheumatoid arthritis after COVID-19: coincidence or connected?’’ by Roongta et al

Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases, 2023
We thank Roongta et al 1 for the interest taken in our work and for bringing this interesting case of seropositive rheumatoid arthritis (RA) after COVID-19 to the attention. They describe a patient who developed polyarthritis after proven SARS-CoV-2 infection, with seroconversion for both rheumatoid factor (RF) and anti-citrullinated protein antibodies

Strong correspondence principle and the classical-resonance overlap criterion for the onset of chaos

Physical Review A, 1995
The overlap of classical resonances has been particularly successful in predicting ionization thresholds for hydrogen atoms in strong microwave fields, although not for low scaled frequencies. In this paper, we explicitly relate quantum mechanically computed matrix elements to the classical Fourier amplitudes used in the overlap criterion.

Electroclinical characterization and classification of symptomatic epilepsies with very early onset by multiple correspondence analysis

Epilepsy Research, 2010
To characterize very early onset symptomatic epilepsies electroclinically, to identify meaningful factors to delineate epilepsy syndromes under this category, and to test validity of the current syndromic organization of these epilepsies by the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE).Subjects were 38 epileptic patients with seizure onset before 3 ...

Correspondence between physiological and behavioural responses to vibratory stimuli during the sleep onset period: A quantitative electroencephalography analysis

Journal of Sleep Research, 2020
AbstractBehavioural responses to auditory stimuli cease in late N1 or early N2 sleep. Yet, responsiveness to minimal intensity tactile stimuli and the correspondence with sleep microstructure during the sleep onset period is unknown. The aim of the present study was to investigate sleep microstructure using quantitative electroencephalography analysis ...

Maximum tidal turbine blade loading during waves and corresponding onset flow variation

Proceedings of the European Wave and Tidal Energy Conference
Tidal turbines are required to operate at sites where turbulent flows interact with surface waves. Prediction, and mitigation, of wave induced flows on blades is of increasing interest, particularly for designs that require small immersion depths such as turbines that are large relative to the depth or supported near-surface on floating platforms ...
