Anthropometric Studies of Schoolchildren During the First Decades of the 20th Century in Spain and Argentina. [PDF]

open access: yesAm J Hum Biol
ABSTRACT Objective The practice of anthropometry in schools at the beginning of the 20th century originated in Europe and Latin America in conjunction with the emergence of hygienism and epidemiological auxology. The aim of this work is to deepen the knowledge of these practices in Spain and Argentina and to compare the available growth data in order ...

Ontogenetic Changes in Feeding Behaviors in Tufted Capuchins. [PDF]

open access: yesAm J Biol Anthropol
ABSTRACT Objectives Wild juvenile capuchins exhibit lower feeding success than adults, particularly for mechanically challenging foods, but ontogenetic changes in oral food processing behaviors related to this reduced success are unknown. We test how oral food processing efficiency varies across development in an experimental setting in tufted ...

How seeds and growth dynamics influence plant size and yield: Integrating trait relationships into ontogeny

open access: yesJournal of Ecology, Volume 110, Issue 11, Page 2684-2700, November 2022., 2022
Our results provide important insights into the proximal mechanisms that operate during ontogeny and drive variation in mature plant size in annual herbs. Of the three traits considered (a), seed mass and duration of vegetative growth had the greatest influence on plant size at maturity (b).

Fetal movements: the origin of human behaviour

open access: yesDevelopmental Medicine &Child Neurology, Volume 63, Issue 10, Page 1142-1148, October 2021., 2021
The study of the onset and ontogeny of human behaviour has made it clear that a multitude of fetal movement patterns are spontaneously generated, and that there is a close association between activity and the development of peripheral and central structures.

Acetaldehyde involvement in ethanol's postabsortive effects during early ontogeny [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Clinical and biomedical studies sustains the notion that early ontogeny is a vulnerable window to the impact of alcohol. Experiences with the drug during these stages increase latter disposition to prefer, use or abuse ethanol.

Ontogenia de los linfocitos B

open access: yesRevista Alergia México, 2016
The B cell development from hematopoietic stem cells is a continuous and highly regulated process where multiple differentiation potentials are gradually lost while acquiring lineage specialized functions. At 50 years of the B cell discovery, the current knowledge of its early differentiation largely derive from the isolation and characterization of ...
