The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

The role of semantic enrichment in Building Information Modelling

open access: yesTema, 2016
In current application of Building Information Modelling to building design processes, two main limits have emerged: 1) restricted representation spectrum and 2) inefficiency in supporting collaboration because of the low-level semantics shared among the

Reduced vascular leakage correlates with breast carcinoma T regulatory cell infiltration but not with metastatic propensity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A mouse model for vascular normalization and a human breast cancer cohort were studied to understand the relationship between vascular leakage and tumor immune suppression. For this, endothelial and immune cell RNAseq, staining for vascular function, and immune cell profiling were employed.

On the Succinctness of Query Rewriting over OWL 2 QL Ontologies with Shallow Chases [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We investigate the size of first-order rewritings of conjunctive queries over OWL 2 QL ontologies of depth 1 and 2 by means of hypergraph programs computing Boolean functions. Both positive and negative results are obtained.

Multirepresentation in Ontologies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The objective of this paper is to define an ontology language to support multiple representations of ontologies. In our research, we focus on the logic-based ontology languages. As a matter of fact, we will consider only languages that are based on description logics (DLs). At first, we propose a sub-language of DL as an ontology language.

Microbial profile of the appendix niche in acute appendicitis: a novel sampling approach

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study utilized a novel sampling method, ERAT (i.e. endoscopic retrograde appendicitis treatment)‐guided lumen aspiration, to obtain samples from the appendix, and shotgun metagenomic sequencing was performed for in situ characterization of the appendix microbiome in patients with acute appendicitis.

Modelling Discourse-related terminology in OntoLingAnnot’s ontologies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Recently, computational linguists have shown great interest in discourse annotation in an attempt to capture the internal relations in texts. With this aim, we have formalized the linguistic knowledge associated to discourse into different linguistic ...
