An Ontology of Software Evolution. [PDF]
This paper aims at clarifying and formalizing the concepts relating to software evolution, creating shared knowledge of software evolution. To achieve this goal, we propose an ontology of software evolution, for the first time in the research community, based on the analysis of the previous work.

Curating the Specificity of Ontological Descriptions under Ontology Evolution
Journal on Data Semantics, 2013Semantic Web Ontologies are not static, but evolve, however, this evolution usually happens independently of the ontological instance descriptions (usually referred as “metadata”) which are stored in the various Metadata Repositories or Knowledge Bases.

A Formal Framework for the Ontology Evolution
2019Ontologies are a formal tool for expressing knowledge. They are based on providing a logic theory about some selected universe of discourse, which defines a decomposition of a topic of interest into its basic elements and formally describes certain restrictions and constraints that need to be met. In the modern days, users cannot expect that ontologies

Multimedia Interpretation for Dynamic Ontology Evolution
Journal of Logic and Computation, 2008The recent success of distributed and dynamic infrastructures for knowledge sharing has raised the need for semiautomatic/automatic ontology evolution strategies. Ontology evolution is generally defined as the timely adaptation of an ontology to changing requirements and the consistent propagation of changes to dependent artifacts.

Tracking Changes During Ontology Evolution
2004As ontology development becomes a collaborative process, developers face the problem of maintaining versions of ontologies akin to maintaining versions of software code or versions of documents in large projects. Traditional versioning systems enable users to compare versions, examine changes, and accept or reject changes.

Ontology Evolution: Assisting Query Migration
2012Information systems rely more and more on semantic web ontologies to share and interpret data within and across research domains. However, an important problem when dealing with ontologies is the fact that they are living artefacts and subject to change.
