Ontology Mapping – An Integrated Approach
2004Ontology mapping is important when working with more than one ontology. Typically similarity considerations are the basis for this. In this paper an approach to integrate various similarity methods is presented. In brief, we determine similarity through rules which have been encoded by ontology experts.

A Negotiation Model for Ontology Mapping
2006 IEEE/WIC/ACM International Conference on Intelligent Agent Technology, 2006This paper presents an agent negotiation model for ontology mapping. We consider that different agents working on the basis of particular approaches arrive to distinct mapping results that must be shared, compared, chosen and agreed. Then, the final mapping result must reflect a better solution than individual approaches.

Learning Navigation Map on Ontology
2009 Eighth IEEE International Conference on Dependable, Autonomic and Secure Computing, 2009The paper utilizes semantic web and knowledge service technologies to construct a subject-oriented learning navigation system used in middle school education. The system inherently builds a knowledge base by ontology to store the relationship of subject knowledge points to learning resource and relationship between knowledge points , displays the ...

Design of Ontology Mapping Framework
2006 International Conference on Computational Inteligence for Modelling Control and Automation and International Conference on Intelligent Agents Web Technologies and International Commerce (CIMCA'06), 2006Ontology heterogeneity is the primary obstacle for interoperation of ontology. Ontology mapping is the best way to solve this problem. In this paper, ontology heterogeneity and the current study situations of ontology mapping are discussed, and an ontology-mapping framework with a kind of hybrid architecture is put forward.

Semantic Enrichment for Ontology Mapping
2004In this paper, we present a heuristic mapping method and a prototype mapping system that support the process of semi-automatic ontology mapping for the purpose of improving semantic interoperability in heterogeneous systems. The approach is based on the idea of semantic enrichment, i.e.

(Semi-)automatic mapping - also called (semi-) automatic alignment - of ontologies is a core task to achieve interoperability when two agents or services use different ontologies. In the existing literature, the focus has so far been on improving the quality of mapping results. We here consider QOM, Quick Ontology Mapping, as a way to trade off between

Ontology Mapping Through Tagging
2008 International Conference on Complex, Intelligent and Software Intensive Systems, 2008With ontologies increasing in number and becoming more common place, there is an ever increasing need for tools and techniques to cope with diversity and heterogeneity. We believe that the interfaces to ontology management tools will need to be engineered to allow ordinary non technical people to be able to use them effectively. This paper reports upon

Ontology Mapping: As a Binary Classification Problem
2008 Fourth International Conference on Semantics, Knowledge and Grid, 2008AbstractOntology mapping (OM) seeks to find semantic correspondences between similar elements of different ontologies. OM is critical to achieve semantic interoperability in the World Wide Web. To solve the OM problem, this article proposes a non‐instance learning‐based approach that transforms the OM problem into a binary classification problem and ...

An Automatic Method for Ontology Mapping
2007Ontology mapping is a precondition to achieve interoperability between agents or services using different ontologies. Today, a series of methods for ontology mapping have been reported. However in the existing literature, the focus has so far been on computing similarity and establishing equal mapping relation. In practice, it is possible to have other

Ontology Mapping by Axioms (OMA)
2005Creation and execution of semantic mappings between two (or more) ontologies is a core issue to enable interoperability across various applications in the Semantic Web. To handle the increasing number of individual ontologies, but also for being able to create mappings on the fly, it becomes necessary to develop automatic approaches.
