Skin bridge on a nail plate caused by distal onychocryptosis

Clinical pearl: kinesiology tape for onychocryptosis.
Cutis, 2020Onychocryptosis, or ingrown toenail, is characterized by penetration of the periungual skin by the nail plate. One conservative treatment is taping, but frequent detachment is a notable shortcoming. We describe use of kinesiology tape to overcome this limitation for effective treatment of onychocryptosis.

[Ingrown nails or onychocryptosis].

The feet are mainly affected. The treatments are numerous: medical, podiatric, or surgical. Surgical management has two approaches: the techniques focused on the periungual skin and those on the nail plate.
