Swine Manure‐Derived Black Soldier Fly (Hermetia illucens L.) Frass Enhances Chilli (Capsicum annuum L.) Vegetative Growth and Soil Epigeic Macro‐Arthropod Abundance

open access: yesJournal of Applied Entomology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The rapid expansion of swine production has increased environmental concerns related to nutrient pollution and improper manure management. Black soldier fly (BSF) larvae offer a promising bioconversion approach, producing frass that may serve as a sustainable organic fertiliser.

A single nucleotide polymorphism genotyping panel for efficient genetic stock identification of the Teno river Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) population complex

open access: yesJournal of Fish Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract A new single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) panel for genetic stock identification in the Teno river Atlantic salmon, Salmo salar L., fishery was developed, with a view to improving on an existing microsatellite panel. Twenty‐two genetically differentiated reporting units were proposed based on population genetic analyses of 1212 individuals ...

Stikstofwerking van mineralenconcentraten op grasland = N fertilizer value of mineral concentrates on grassland

open access: yes, 2011

Plasticity in the reproductive biology of Yellowstone cutthroat trout Oncorhynchus virginalis bouvieri in Yellowstone Lake following lake trout Salvelinus namaycush invasion

open access: yesJournal of Fish Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract Yellowstone cutthroat trout Oncorhynchus virginalis bouvieri in Yellowstone Lake are the focus of intensive conservation efforts due to the threat of predation by invasive lake trout Salvelinus namaycush. Generation time measures the trade-off between survival and reproduction in a life cycle [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Survival and fertility are the two most basic components of fitness, and they drive the evolution of a life cycle. A trade-off between them is usually present: when survival increases, fertility decreases?and vice versa.

Organizational Soundscapes and the Sonicity of Voices: The Power of the ‘Sounds’ that Carry ‘Words’

open access: yesJournal of Management Studies, EarlyView.
Abstract Organizations are soundscapes – they resonate with sounds and particularly the sounds of voices. Somehow however voice sonics, that is the sounds of voices and not the words carried on those sounds, have escaped attention in management studies. This absence of analysis is peculiar given voice sonics' undoubted influence on management (they may
