Parallel simulation of flows in open channels
Future Generation Computer Systems, 2002Summary: In this project, we apply our advanced free-surface flow solver to simulate flow in open channels at supercritical conditions. The finite element method is used to discretize the governing equations over fixed meshes. The finite element formulations have been implemented in parallel using message passing interface libraries.

Open channel flows with submerged obstructions
Journal of Fluid Mechanics, 1989Free-surface flows past a submerged triangular obstacle at the bottom of a channel are considered. The flow is assumed to be steady, two-dimensional and irrotational; the fluid is treated as inviseid and incompressible and gravity is taken into account. The problem is solved numerically by series truncation.
