Ring‐Width Dendrochronology, Isotopic Dendrochronology and Radiocarbon Dating of Timbers From the Spire Scaffold of Salisbury Cathedral, Wiltshire, England

open access: yesArchaeometry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Ten timbers from the spire scaffold of Salisbury Cathedral were dated using a combination of ring‐width dendrochronology, stable oxygen isotopic dendrochronology and radiocarbon dating. Seven timbers were coeval and assigned a combined empirical felling date range of 1352–1378, which was further refined to 1351–1359 (OxCal 95.4%).

First occurrences of Trionychidae (Testudines, Cryptodira) from the Miocene of Poland: Detailed cranial anatomy and biogeographic implications

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, EarlyView.
Fossil finds from three Middle Miocene sites in Poland reveal the northernmost known presence of trionychid turtles in Europe, tentatively identified as Trionyx cf. vindobonensis, suggesting a warmer climate that supported thermophilic species in Central Europe during this period. Abstract Modern trionychids (Testudines, Cryptodira) have a pan‐tropical

Interplay of Probe Stability and Oscillation During Very‐High‐Power Short‐Duration Ablation in Pulmonary Vein Isolation for Atrial Fibrillation

open access: yesPacing and Clinical Electrophysiology, EarlyView.
This graphical abstract presents a comprehensive analysis of probe stability and oscillation during very high‐power short‐duration (vHPSD) pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) for atrial fibrillation. The findings indicate that oscillation velocity serves as a more reliable predictor of impedance drop and temperature changes than contact force alone ...

Tree planting choices mediate wildfire damage to tropical forest restoration in eastern Madagascar

open access: yesRestoration Ecology, EarlyView.
Wildfires threaten tropical rainforest conservation and restoration around the world, and they pose a particular risk to the unique species assemblages in eastern Madagascar. Following an intense period of wildfires in 2020–2022 that impacted 33% of 46 tropical forest restoration sites installed by the non‐profit organization Green Again Madagascar ...
