Open-Source Applications of TCPA Hardware [PDF]

open access: yes20th Annual Computer Security Applications Conference, 2005
How can Alice trust computation occurring at Bob's computer? Since it exists and is becoming ubiquitous, the current-generation TCPA/TCG hardware might enable a solution. When we started investigating this technology, the specification of the TCG software stack was not publicly available, and an implementation is still not; so, we designed and built an

Open source hardware for better science

open access: yes, 2023
The open source font Metropolis (https://fontlibrary.org/en/font/metropolis) is embedded in the attached presentation slides, which are saved with Microsoft PowerPoint 2021 (version 16.0.14332.20492) in the OOXML Strict format (file extension .pptx). Users of other presentation software might need to install the font in their system before successfully

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Optimizing photoactivation of PA‐mCherry for optical pooled CRISPR screens

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Photoactivatable PA‐mCherry finds widespread use to optically tag individual cells. However, confocal 405 nm UV laser‐scanning (normal scan) is much less efficient than widefield UV illumination, limiting the use of PA‐mCherry on confocal instruments. We remedy this limitation by reporting that rapid and repeated confocal scanning with a low‐intensity,
