The damage and failure mechanism of prestatically loaded rock during medium‐strain rate cyclic impact loading

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
Based on experimental results and theoretical analysis, an established rock damage accumulation model that comprehensively considers the preapplied static load, impact peak value, impact frequency, and impact times. Abstract To study the rock damage mechanism under high static loading and superimposed medium strain rate cyclic impact loading, a series ...

Simulation of Hydraulic Processes in Open Channels

Journal of the Hydraulics Division, 1976
Techniques combining the deterministic and stochastic methods have been developed to compute and simulate various hydraulic processes in open channels, such as the three-dimensional distribution of flow velocity, steady and unsteady flows, flow resistance, secondary currents, and unsteady dispersion.

Hydraulic droplet coarsening in open-channel capillaries

Physical Review E, 2016
Over a range of liquid-solid contact angles, an open-channel capillary with curved or angled sides can show a maximum in the Laplace pressure as a function of the filling state. Examples include double-angle wedges, grooves scored into flat surfaces, steps on surfaces, and the groove between touching parallel cylinders.
