OPEN CHANNEL HYDRAULICS OF FLOWS WITH INCREASING DISCHARGE

Journal of Hydraulic Research, 1983
Based on a literature review, the most general equations are given for steady channel flows with increasing discharge; one-dimensional flow and hydrostatic pressure distribution is assumed. The prismatic, rectangular channel with arbitrary bottom slope and the non-prismatic, rectangular, nearly horizontal channel are investigated in detail.

Unsteady Flow Computations in Open Channel Hydraulics

1986
Unsteady flow in complex systems of open channel courses (networks) can be simulated by a mathematical model consisting of the so called De Saint Venant equations. A derivation of the equations may be found by Stoker (1957) and Mahmood and Yevjevitch (1975).

Improved performance of open-channel hydraulic systems

2001
The article investigates the performance of feedback controlled open-channel systems represented by a linear advection-diffusion equation. In a previous paper, we analyzed the maximal achievable performance of an open-channel system when only the regulated variable is measured and perturbations are assumed unmeasured.
