Office-based sterilization by open laparoscopy

The Journal of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, 1996
Between December 1979 and March 1996, 810 laparoscopic sterilizations were attempted in an office setting and 808 were completed. Open laparoscopy and local anesthesia were used in every case. There were no major complications. Minor complications consisted of three superficial wound infections and two failed laparoscopies.
