Surgically confirmed severe endometriosis is associated with lower risk of steatotic liver disease: Evidence of estrogen‐linked hepatic–reproductive crosstalk

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, EarlyView.
Severe surgically confirmed endometriosis was associated with a lower prevalence of steatotic liver disease than non‐severe disease. Higher estradiol levels may partly explain this inverse hepatic–reproductive association, supporting integrated gynecologic and hepatologic risk assessment.

Evaluation of Ceftriaxone as a Monotherapy and Amoxicillin With Clavulanic Acid as Combination Therapy in Surgical Prophylaxis

open access: yesiNew Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Surgical antibiotic prophylaxis (SAP) is crucial in preventing postoperative surgical site infections (SSIs), especially in clean and clean‐contaminated surgeries. It was a prospective comparative observational study that compared the effectiveness and safety of single‐dose ceftriaxone monotherapy with amoxicillin–clavulanic acid as a ...

Simultaneous treatment of a pubovesical fistula and lymph node metastasis secondary to multimodal treatment for prostate cancer: Case report and review of the literature

open access: yesOpen Medicine, 2022
Pubovesical fistula (PVF) is a rare complication of radical treatments for prostate cancer (PCa), especially when a multimodal approach is performed. We present a case of PVF with extensive communication between the bladder and the pubic bones, and lymph

Pelvic Exenteration for Cervical Cancer: Oncological, Morbidity and Quality of Life Outcomes

open access: yesJournal of Surgical Oncology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background and Objectives One third of patients who undergo definitive chemoradiotherapy for locally advanced cervical cancer develop disease recurrence. Salvage surgery in the form of pelvic exenteration (PE) may offer improved survival and possibly cure in carefully selected patients, however robust data is scarce.
