Lisfranc Open Reduction and Internal Fixation
Journal of Orthopaedic TraumaSummary: Lisfranc injuries are an uncommon injury of the midfoot that can occur after a low-energy or high-energy mechanisms. There often a wide spectrum of injury ranging from a sprain to a sever fracture dislocation. Treatment of displaced Lisfranc injuries is often operative with the mainstays of treatment being open reduction and internal

Immediate Open Reduction and Internal Fixation in Open Ankle Fractures
Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association, 2006In this prospective study, 30 patients (28 men and 2 women) with open ankle fractures were treated with early debridement and immediate stable internal fixation after anatomical reduction to achieve better functional results after early mobilization. The procedure was performed an average of 8 hours (range, 6–15 hours) after injury.

Open Reduction and Internal Fixation of Forearm Fractures in Children
Journal of Pediatric Orthopaedics, 1996We retrospectively reviewed 16 children younger than 13 years with 17 fractures of the shafts of the radius or ulna or both who had undergone an open reduction-internal fixation (ORIF). ORIF was performed when a closed reduction was deemed unacceptable in 14 radius fractures and for three unstable open fractures of the radius. The average age was 9.4 +/

Open reduction and internal fixation for distal radius fractures
The Journal of Hand Surgery, 1992From a series of 650 dorsally angulated fractures of the distal radius, 32 intra-articular fractures were treated by open reduction and internal fixation. The 32 fractures were classified according to the Frykman criteria as type VII (5) or type VIII (27).

Open Reduction and Internal Fixation of Radial Head Fractures
Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma, 1991Open reduction and internal fixation of displaced fractures of the radial head were reviewed in 14 elbows. Follow-up averaged 32 months. The average elbow score for Mason type II fractures was 96.8 points, corresponding to 100% good or excellent results. Average flexion was 142.5 degrees, and the mean fixed flexion deformity was 3.9 degrees.

OPEN REDUCTION AND INTERNAL FIXATION OF TIBIAL PILON FRACTURES
Foot and Ankle Clinics, 2000Although it is evident that the fracture of the tibial plafond is a complex, often debilitating injury, its management is not clear. These injuries generally fall into one of two categories. The low-energy, rotational type of fracture has been shown to have excellent clinical and functional results with open reduction and internal fixation.

Complications of open reduction and internal fixation of ankle fractures
Foot and Ankle Clinics, 2003This article discusses the complications after open reduction and internal fixation of ankle fractures. Complications are classified as perioperative (malreduction, inadequate fixation, and intra-articular penetration of hardware), early postoperative (wound edge dehiscence, necrosis, infection and compartment syndrome), and late (stiffness, distal ...

Calcaneal fractures—open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF)
Injury, 2004Although pioneers such as Leriche in 1921 [5] and Judet et al in 1954 [4] introduced screw or plate fixation of the broken calcaneus, surgical treatment using open anatomical reduction and stable internal osteosynthesis only commenced at the start of the 1980s. This treatment was made possible by the introduction of new imaging methods such as CT which

Open Reduction and Internal Fixation of Coronal Fractures of the Capitellum
The Journal of Hand Surgery, 2007In this article, we describe a technique for internal fixation of coronal shear fractures of the distal humerus. It follows basic AO principles utilizing lag screw fixation combined with an antiglide plate to neutralize shearing forces. We have used this technique successfully for the treatment of isolated shear fractures of the capitellum, including ...
