Design and Performance Evaluation of a Hybrid Hand Exoskeleton for Hand Opening/Closing
Journal of Medical Devices, 2021Abstract Finger extensor muscle weakness and flexor hypertonia are the most commonly reported issues among patients suffering from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Moreover, the relative hyperflexion of the wrist and fingers has limited their ability to voluntarily open the hand and interact with the external environment.

Numerical study on sealing performance after wear of plug valve during opening–closing process
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part J: Journal of Engineering Tribology, 2023The failure of the plug valve seal may result in dangerous accidents in the production and transportation process of petroleum and chemical products. In the paper at hand, the operating life of the plug valve is studied in the opening–closing process. The adhesion wear between the sealing surface of the plug valve is numerically studied in micro-scale,

Open-Close Loop Control of ALP With Improved Performance Function
Journal of Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering, 1998A linear open-close loop control strategy is presented for controlling the response of the offshore articulated leg platform (ALP) in which the performance function involves structural acceleration in addition to the usual state variables, i.e., angular displacement and velocity of the tower, and the sea surface elevation and its variables.

Study on Dynamic Performance of High Spot Open-Closed Gripper Mechanism in Printing Machine
Key Engineering Materials, 2009The paper aims at attacking and noise problems of high spot open-closed gripper mechanism in printing machine in a high speed situation. The analytical method of dynamic performance is presented based on the relative motion, the absolute motion, and the mechanical model. And the analytical equations are established.

GIS (Gas-Insulated Switchgear) has been widely used in power systems due to its high capacity, high reliability and environmental friendliness. The opening/closing coil used for GIS is the core component of the operating mechanism in GIS, by driving the ejector to perform a series of actions to complete the opening or closing action of the circuit ...

An opening-closing, single-sample net system designed to capture micronektonic organisms is described. The net is opened and closed at the mouth by mechanical time-release devices, and can be hauled from small ships on hydrographic wire. Data are presented from a series of 4 hauls made with this system during a study of sonic scattering layers.

Abstract Open campus privileges in high schools can be conditional on students’ academic (GPA, test scores, etc.) or behavioral (absences, probation, etc.) performance. I evaluate the effectiveness of this incentive scheme in improving student academic outcomes using a dataset covering over 460 California high schools over a 10-year period and their ...
