Dynamic Page Size Adjustment in Operating System

2016 International Conference on Information System and Artificial Intelligence (ISAI), 2016
Huge pages have been widely supported by architecture and operating system. Huge pages map large fixed virtual memory regions, on the orders of 2MB to 1GB on Intel x86-64 architecture. The page size is the key to striking the balance between trade-off pairs. For example, initially, the use of huge pages aims to mitigate address translation overhead for

Nonparametric Estimation of Operational Risk Losses Adjusted for Underreporting

SSRN Electronic Journal, 2006
Not all claims are reported when a database for financial operational risk is created. The probability of reporting increases with the size of the operational risk loss, and converges towards one for big losses. Losses in operational risk have different causes, and usually follow a wide variety of distributional shapes.

Asean Economic Co‑operation: Adjusting to the Crisis

Southeast Asian Affairs 1998, 1998
In 1997, while the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) proudly looked back at its past thirty years of accomplishment in forging regional peace and security, vibrant economic growth, and higher levels of social welfare, a new issue — economic security — confronted the grouping's economies.

Island operation of the adjustable speed generation system

2017 Twelfth International Conference on Ecological Vehicles and Renewable Energies (EVER), 2017
The paper presents a fuel saving, adjustable speed, autonomous generation system providing fixed amplitude and frequency sinusoidal voltage. A permanent magnet generator, driven by a Diesel engine, delivers variable frequency and amplitude AC voltage whereas an AC/DC/AC converter produces demanded voltage.

Adjustment of Intercity Passenger Dedicated Line Operation

ICTE 2011, 2011
Current adjustment research is mainly focused on the existing railway or long-distance passenger dedicated line and less focused on the intercity passenger dedicated line. The latter is different from the existing railway or long-distance passenger dedicated line in terms of traveling distance and organization. This determines their different operation

A macromodel for operational amplifiers with adjustable offset voltage

IEEE 2002 International Conference on Communications, Circuits and Systems and West Sino Expositions, 2003
Many kinds of operational amplifiers (opamp) macro-models (A. Maxim and D. Andreu, Proc. IEEE Int. Symp. on Circuits and Sys., vol. 4, p. 697-700, 2000) have been proposed to help designers to simulate and verify system behaviors, but their offset voltage could not be adjusted by external elements, which are widely applied in signal detection. A simple

Semiconductor laser bistable operation with an adjustable trigger

Optical and Quantum Electronics, 1982
Hysteresis is demonstrated in the light output versus current characteristics of twin-stripe injection lasers subject to optical injection. The sensitivity of the device to optical injection is adjustable and allows an adjustable switch for bistable operation to be defined.

The Application of Rough Set on Train Operation Adjustment

International Conference on Transportation Engineering 2009, 2009
As a new research method, Rough Set has been applied with tremendous success in Rough Control, Machine Learning, Data Mining, Analysis and Decision-making Support recently. Through analyzing the characteristics, methods, and research results of train operation adjustment, this paper discovers that Rough Set has enormous potentials in the research of ...
