The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

Design of an ECG measuring system by the coupling capacitance amplifier between the human body
This paper proposes an electrocardiogram (ECG) measuring system which simultaneously enables the reduction of input impedance and low-frequency cutoff through virtual amplification of the coupling capacitance formed by body capacitance and ECG electrode.

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

A Low-Power Thin-Film Si Heterojunction FET Noise Amplifier for Generation of True Random Numbers
A low-power noise amplifier is implemented with thin-film Si heterojunction field-effect transistors (HJFETs) and its suitability for generation of true random numbers is investigated. The HJFETs are operated at near subthreshold to obtain a large output

This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Analysis of Zero-locked Circuit of Operational Amplifier and Its Improvement
Working principles of existing zero-locked circuits for operational amplifiers composed of NPN BJT or N channel JFET were introduced separately and corresponding improvement methods were proposed for shortcomings of zero-locked circuit with N channel ...

New Temperature-Insensitive Electronically-Tunable Grounded Capacitor Simulator
A new circuit for simulating a grounded capacitor is presented. The circuit uses one operationalamplifier (OA), three operational-transconductance amplifiers (OTAs), and one capacitor.
