Design of RC-active oscillators using composite amplifiers [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
The design of composite opamp Wien-Bridge oscillators is systematically approached by using a general model including amplitude control issues. Two different design criteria are presented and their main features summarized.

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Analytical approach of Brillouin Amplification over threshold

open access: yes, 2017
We report on an accurate closed form analytical model for the gain of a Brillouin fiber amplifier that accounts for material loss in the depleted pump regime.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Window comparator [PDF]

open access: yes, 1977
A window comparator is described, comprising two operational amplifiers, one with two feedback circuits, each feedback circuit having a diode connected to the amplifier output and poled for forward current conduction of opposite polarity, to provide an ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Design of BJT-JFET Operational Amplifiers on the Master Slice Array

open access: yesДоклады Белорусского государственного университета информатики и радиоэлектроники
The use of dual-gate field-effect transistors located on the base matrix crystal MH2XA031, controlled by a p–n junction needed to reduce the input current of operational amplifiers is studied.

Universal three input and one output current-mode filter withoutexternal passive elements [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
A new current-mode universal filter is proposed. The filter uses only operational amplifiers and operational transconductance amplifiers (OTAs) and can realise lowpass, highpass, bandpass, notch and allpass responses without changing circuit topology ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
