THE HEAT OPERATOR OF A TRANSVERSALLY ELLIPTIC OPERATOR [PDF]

open access: yesJP Journal of Geometry and Topology, 2017
Let $G$ be a connected compact Lie group. We study the heat operator of a $G$-transversally elliptic operator. After we review the spectral properties of a $G$-transversally elliptic operator, we define the character, that is a distribution on $G$ generalizing the trace of the heat operator to the $G$-equivariant case.

Microstructural Evolution and Vacancy Defect Formation in Mn–Mo–Ni RPV Steel Under Low Cycle Fatigue: Insights From EBSD and PALS

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Low‐cycle fatigue damage in Mn–Mo–Ni reactor pressure vessel steel is examined using a combined electron backscatter diffraction and positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy approach. The study correlates texture evolution, dislocation substructure development, and vacancy‐type defect formation across uniform, necked, and fracture regions, providing

Hare and Others on the Proposition

open access: yesPrincipia: An International Journal of Epistemology, 2011
History witnesses alternative approaches to “the proposition”. The proposition has been referred to as the object of belief, disbelief, and doubt: generally as the object of propositional attitudes, that which can be said to be believed, disbelieved ...

Using Partial Least Squares in Operations Management Research: A Practical Guideline and Summary of Past Research

open access: yes, 2012
The partial least squares (PLS) approach to structural equation modeling (SEM) has been widely adopted in business research fields such as information systems, consumer behavior, and marketing. The use of PLS in the field of operations management is also

Thermomechanical Fatigue and Creep–Fatigue Interaction of Inconel 718 Additively Manufactured by Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Thermomechanical fatigue tests of laser beam powder bed fusion (PBF‐LB) Inconel 718 show that the additively manufactured material reaches almost the lifetimes of conventionally‐rolled material under no‐dwell conditions. Introducing dwell times at the maximum temperature markedly reduces the lifetimes due to pronounced grain boundary sliding associated
