Operational Phase Operators and Hermitian Phase Operators [PDF]

open access: yesProgress of Theoretical Physics, 2003
Summary: It is shown that there exist two kinds of operational (or measured) phase operators, those of the Hradil type [\textit{Z. Hradil}, Phys. Rev. A 47, 4532--4534 (1993)] defined on the entire Hilbert space, and those of the Noh-Fougères-Mandel type [\textit{J. W. Noh, A. Fougères} and \textit{L. Mandel}, Phys. Rev.

Paratesticular leiomyosarcoma treated by enucleation

open access: yesInternational Brazilian Journal of Urology, 2006
Spermatic cord leiomyosarcomas are rare tumors and standard treatment consists of radical orchiectomy and high cord ligation. We report a case of a paratesticular leiomyosarcoma successfully treated by enucleation.

Operative hysteroscopy

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology & Obstetrics, 1993
AbstractOBJECTIVE: Analysis of the obtained results after operative hysteroscopy for several intrauterine abnormalities. METHOD: Thirty women with uterine problems (7 polyps, 16 endometrial, 5 endocervical adhesions and 2 lost IUDs) were submitted to operative hysteroscopy under general anesthesia by using fine rigid auxiliary instruments at Lito ...

Operator Ideals and Operator Spaces [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1995
We prove that every full symmetrically normed ideal of operators on a Hilbert space is realizable as the set of completely bounded maps between two homogeneous operator Hilbert spaces, with the c.b. norm equivalent to (but in general not equal to) the symmetric norm. We show that one can have equality of the c.b.

Comparative study of operative versus nonoperative management of intra-articular calcaneum fractures

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Diseases and Traumatology, 2019
Purpose: The treatment of intra-articular fractures of the calcaneum remains controversial. There is no consensus in the current literature regarding the optimal treatment of intra-articular fractures of the calcaneum.

Extended scope of nursing practice: a multicentre randomised controlled trial of appropriately trained nurses and pre-registration house officers in pre-operative assessment in elective general surgery [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Aim/ Principal Research Question:1) To determine whether pre-operative assessment carried out by an appropriately trained nurse (ATN) is equivalent in quality to that carried out by a pre-registration house officer (PRHO).2) To assess whether pre ...

Making Operation-Based CRDTs Operation-Based [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the First Workshop on Principles and Practice of Eventual Consistency, 2014
Conflict-free Replicated Datatypes (CRDT) are usually classified as either state-based or operation-based. However, the standard definition of op-based CRDTs is very encompassing, allowing even sending the full-state, blurring the distinction. We introduce pure op-based CRDTs, that can only send operations to other replicas, drawing a clear distinction

Start time delays in operating room: Different perspectives

open access: yesSaudi Journal of Anaesthesia, 2011
Background: Healthcare expenditure is a serious concern, with escalating costs failing to meet the expectations of quality care. The treatment capacities are limited in a hospital setting and the operating rooms (ORs).
