2013The Ripstein (and related procedures) uses mobilization of the rectum and fixation into the hollow of the sacrum to treat full-thickness rectal prolapse. This chapter describes one technique for performing the Ripstein procedure. This chapter also describes creation of the Pfannenstiel incision, a useful incision for other procedures.

Results of TVT operations alone and combined with other vaginal surgical procedures
Archives of Gynecology and Obstetrics, 2002We made a study of 61 women with genuine stress incontinence (GSI). They all had a tension-free vaginal tape (TVT) and 28 patients had concomitant vaginal surgery. The cure rates and complication rates for the two groups were similar.

Survey of Anesthesiology, 1985Eighty general surgical procedures with general anesthesia were performed upon 73 patients who had undergone previous myocardial revascularization for significant coronary artery disease. No deaths occurred in this group of patients. Cardiac complications occurred in two patients.
