A DIA‐MS‐based proteomics approach to find potential serum prognostic biomarkers in glioblastoma patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A DIA‐MS‐based proteomics analysis of serum samples from GB patients and healthy controls showed that high levels of IL1R2 and low levels of CRTAC1 and HRG in serum are associated with poor survival outcomes for GB patients. These circulating proteins could serve as biomarkers for the prediction of outcome in patients with GB.

On multidimensional Bochner-Phillips functional calculus [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
The functional calculus of semigroup generators, based on the class of Bernstein functions in several variables is developed, the condition for holomorphy of semigroups, generated by operators which arisen in the calculus is given, and in the one-dimensional case the moment inequality for such operators is proved.

Cytomegalovirus infection is common in prostate cancer and antiviral therapies inhibit progression in disease models

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Human cytomegalovirus infection is common in normal prostate epithelium, prostate tumor tissue, and prostate cancer cell lines. CMV promotes cell survival, proliferation, and androgen receptor signaling. Anti‐CMV pharmaceutical compounds in clinical use inhibited cell expansion in prostate cancer models in vitro and in vivo, motivating investigation ...

Infinite-dimensional Lie Algebras, Representations, Hermitian Duality and the Operators of Stochastic Calculus

open access: yesAxioms, 2016
We study densely defined unbounded operators acting between different Hilbert spaces. For these, we introduce a notion of symmetric (closable) pairs of operators.

Monogenic Calculus as an Intertwining Operator

open access: yesBulletin of the Belgian Mathematical Society - Simon Stevin, 2005
We revise a monogenic calculus for several non-commuting operators, which is defined through group representations. Instead of an algebraic homomorphism we use group covariance. The related notion of joint spectrum and spectral mapping theorem are discussed.

Matrigel inhibits elongation and drives endoderm differentiation in aggregates of mouse embryonic stem cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Stem cell‐based embryo models (SCBEMs) are valuable to study early developmental milestones. Matrigel, a basement membrane matrix, is a critical substrate used in various SCBEM protocols, but its role in driving stem cell lineage commitment is not clearly defined.

The Suspension Calculus and its Relationship to Other Explicit Treatments of Substitution in Lambda Calculi [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2007
The intrinsic treatment of binding in the lambda calculus makes it an ideal data structure for representing syntactic objects with binding such as formulas, proofs, types, and programs. Supporting such a data structure in an implementation is made difficult by the complexity of the substitution operation relative to lambda terms.

Neurotoxic amyloid β‐peptide and tau produce cytokine‐like effects on PMCA in glioblastoma cell lines, enhancing its activity and isoforms expression

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Two biomarkers of Alzheimer's disease, amyloid β‐peptide (Aβ) and tau, induce the transformation of U‐251 and other glioblastoma cell lines into neurotoxic A1‐like reactive astrocytes. This transformation is produced by cytokines and is followed by upregulation of PMCA activity and isoform expression, and is closely associated with inflammation, as ...

Some topics in the perturbation theory for a functional calculus of closed operators on Banach spaces [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
The wark is a contribution to the functional calculus constructed by of the author and A. A. Atvinovskii of closed operators on Banach spaces. The calculus is based on Markov and related functions as symbols. Estimates of bounded perturbations of operator functions with respect to general operator ideal norms, operator Lipschitzness, moment inequality,

An approach for coherent periodogram averaging of tilt‐series data for improved contrast transfer function estimation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The contrast transfer function (CTF) is an imaging aberration that is a major resolution‐limiting factor in cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM). Precise CTF estimation is key to overcoming this limitation, but is particularly challenging in cryo‐electron tomography (cryo‐ET) data. Here, we present an approach for using geometric information to assist in
