Unlike the wild‐type BW25113, the fis null mutant is characterized by biphasic growth at 12°C. During the first phase of growth, the absence of FIS results in the formation of filaments with dispersed nucleoids. During the acclimation phase, the FIS Null Adaptation Response is activated that leads to an increase in cell division and nucleoid ...

PhcQ is a key intermediary stabiliser of PhcA controlling quorum sensing‐dependent phenotypes by maintaining protein stability of PhcA. It is downstream of PhcB and upstream of PhcA in the QS regulatory cascade. It binds to PhcA; deletion of a disordered tail in the PhcA C‐terminus impairs its binding affinity.

Xanthomonas euvesicatoria Associated With Outbreaks of Bacterial Blight of Onion in Central Brazil
An investigation into bacterial blight (Xanthomonas euvesicatoria) outbreaks in Brazilian onions highlights the critical role of weeds and leftover soybeans as pathogen reservoirs. Effective disease control requires managing these alternative hosts. ABSTRACT Since 2018, outbreaks of typical bacterial blight caused by Xanthomonas have been observed in ...

Thermal imaging as a tool for studying circadian rhythms in roots
SUMMARY Plants rely on the circadian clock to anticipate daily environmental fluctuations and to coordinate key physiological, metabolic, and developmental processes. Most if not all plant cells have semi‐autonomous circadian oscillators. Roots possess a modified yet robust circadian oscillator that is entrained by external cues such as light and ...
