Bioprinted Constructs in the Regulatory Landscape: Current State and Future Perspectives

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Bioprinting has rapidly emerged as a transformative technology in biomedical research, offering unprecedented potential to replicate complex tissues. Despite its promise, clinical translation remains limited due to regulatory hurdles. This review explores global regulatory frameworks, comparing approaches in the EU, U.S., China, and Australia, and ...

Opinion dynamics with backfire effect and biased assimilation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The democratization of AI tools for content generation, combined with unrestricted access to mass media for all (e.g. through microblogging and social media), makes it increasingly hard for people to distinguish fact from fiction.

Influence of Opinion Dynamics on the Evolution of Games

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
Under certain circumstances such as lack of information or bounded rationality, human players can take decisions on which strategy to choose in a game on the basis of simple opinions. These opinions can be modified after each round by observing own or others payoff results but can be also modified after interchanging impressions with other players.

Photothermally Powered 3D Microgels Mechanically Regulate Mesenchymal Stem Cells Under Anisotropic Force

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The photothermally powered microgel is designed to mechanically train mesenchymal stem cells using spatially patterned exogenous forces in three‐dimensional (3D) workspaces. When microgels are activated selectively via photothermal actuation, locally confined tens of nN forces are exerted on cells, triggering osteogenic differentiation in encapsulated ...

Chaos in Opinion-Driven Disease Dynamics

open access: yesEntropy
During the COVID-19 pandemic, it became evident that the effectiveness of applying intervention measures is significantly influenced by societal acceptance, which, in turn, is affected by the processes of opinion formation.

Water Permeates and Plasticizes Amorphous Carbon Dots: Unraveling the Inner Accessibility of the Nanoparticles by Glass Transition Studies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The water permeability of amorphous carbon dots (CDs) is demonstrated by investigating their plasticization. Novel polyamide‐based and amorphous nanoparticles are synthesized by controlling their inner packing density. Water plasticization is evidenced by the decrease of the CDs glass transition temperature with increasing the hydration degree.

Conformity and Mass Media Influence in the Sznajd Model on Regular Lattices

open access: yesEntropy
The polarization of opinions and difficulties in reaching a consensus are central problems of many modern societies. Understanding the dynamics governing those processes is, therefore, one of the main aims of sociophysics.

Review of Thin Lithium Metal Battery Anode Fabrication – Microstructure – Electrochemistry Relations

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Thin, lightweight lithium‐metal anodes are pivotal for practical high‐energy batteries. This review surveys processing routes that convert diverse Li precursors, e.g., ingots, melts, solutions, and vapor, into Li‐rich foils with controlled thickness, areal density, and tailored functionality.
