Multiomics studies with co-transformation reveal microRNAs via miRNA-TF-mRNA network participating in wood formation in Hevea brasiliensis

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2023
IntroductionMicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small endogenous non-coding RNAs that play an important role in wood formation in plants. However, the significance of the link between miRNAs and their target transcripts in wood formation remains unclear in rubber ...

Admixture Mapping Reveals Candidate Regions for Methotrexate Neurotoxicity Susceptibility: A Reducing Disparities in Acute Leukemia Consortium Report

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Neurotoxicity is a rare, often dose‐limiting adverse effect of methotrexate (MTX) therapy that disproportionally affects Latino children. Factors contributing to the observed disparity are not well understood. This study leveraged admixture mapping to identify genetic regions associated with MTX‐related neurotoxicity susceptibility ...

Effects of removal of different chemical components on moisture sorption property of Populus euramericana Cv. under dynamic hygrothermal conditions

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2018
Effects of chemical components on wood sorption property under dynamic condition were investigated for the first time. Hemicellulose, lignin and extractive (denoted as DHC, DL and DE, respectively) were removed from Populus euramericana Cv., 20 mm in ...

On Hierarchical Composite Endpoints in Pediatric Cancer Supportive Care: Illustrative Examples From Two Multi‐Center Phase‐III Randomized Clinical Trials

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric supportive care clinical trials often involve multiple clinically important outcomes, complicating trial interpretation. Hierarchical composite endpoints (HCEs) provide a framework to integrate key outcomes according to clinical importance.

Forecasting the Dialysis Burden in Japan: Validation‐Based Projections of Prevalence and Incidence Through 2050

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Japan has one of the highest dialysis prevalence rates worldwide and a shrinking, aging population. Whether dialysis burden has entered a sustained post‐peak phase or whether recent declines partly reflect pandemic‐related disruptions remains uncertain.

Qualitative Anatomical Characteristics of Compression, Lateral, and Opposite Woods in Pinus merkusii and Agathis loranthifolia

open access: yesJurnal Sylva Lestari, 2021
This study aimed to observe andcompare the qualitative anatomical characteristics of compression (CW), lateral (LW), and opposite (OW) woodsin the stem wood of Sumatran pine (Pinus merkusii) and Agathis (Agathis loranthifolia). The anatomical characteristics were observed using optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Chemical characteristics and Kraft pulping of tension wood from Eucalyptus globulus labill

open access: yesRevista Árvore, 2012
Tension (TW) and opposite wood (OW) of Eucalyptus globulus trees were analyzed for its chemical characteristics and Kraft pulp production. Lignin content was 16% lower and contained 32% more syringyl units in TW than in OW. The increase in syringyl units
