Solid‐State Diffusion and Intermetallic Phase Formation in Roll‐Bonded Mg–Zn Composites With Kirigami‐Patterned Inlay

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mg–Zn composites with a thickness of 0.21 mm were fabricated using roll bonding of a kirigami‐patterned Mg alloy inlay within a Zn matrix. Thermal activation following this process led to the formation of tailored intermetallic structures, which provided the composite with enhanced flexural strength.

Affecting the Properties of Copper–Graphene Electroconductive Composite by Severe Plastic Deformation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Copper‐based composites enhanced with carbon feature convenient mechanical properties and favorable electric conductivity. Processing via deformation and thermomechanical treatments can introduce advantageous microstructures further enhancing their performance. Herein, copper–graphene powder‐based composites are directly consolidated via rotary swaging

Optic flow

Vision Research, 1986
This paper offers a quick review of the subject of "optic flow" in its conceptual and computational aspects. The theory is evaluated in terms of possible applications in the neurophysiology and experimental psychology of spatial sensorymotor behaviour and perception.

Optical Flow in the Dark

IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, 2020
Optical flow estimation in low-light conditions is a challenging task for existing methods and current optical flow datasets lack low-light samples. Even if the dark images are enhanced before estimation, which could achieve great visual perception, it still leads to suboptimal optical flow results because information like motion consistency may be ...

The Statistics of Optical Flow

Computer Vision and Image Understanding, 2001
Summary: When processing image sequences some representation of image motion must be derived as a first stage. The most often used representation is the optical flow field, which is a set of velocity measurements of image patterns. It is well known that it is very difficult to estimate accurate optical flow at locations in an image which correspond to ...

A “theory” of optical flow

CVGIP: Image Understanding, 1991
Summary: We analyze curves in motion, be they edges, isobrightness curves, or silhouette contours. They curves are perspectively projected from opaque 3D scene surfaces in rigid or nonrigid motion. First, assume that we only know velocity components normal to the curves (so-called normal flow), except for a few (fewer than 4) velocity estimates at ...

Navigation by optical flow

[1992] Proceedings. 11th IAPR International Conference on Pattern Recognition, 2003
A new navigation method based on measurements of image token positions and Kalman filtering is presented. An image token is the central projection of a landmark, a point on the terrain surface. This surface being described by a topographical map, the Kalman filter processes the measurements to update estimates of camera position and orientation, and ...
