Real-time reflectance-difference spectroscopy of GaAs molecular beam epitaxy homoepitaxial growth
We report on real time-resolved Reflectance-difference (RD) spectroscopy of GaAs(001) grown by molecular beam epitaxy, with a time-resolution of 500 ms per spectrum within the 2.3–4.0 eV photon energy range.

Pathology of neuromyelitis optica
Understanding of the pathogenesis of neuromyelitis optica (NMO) is rapidly growing. In our immunohistochemical studies from 2006, the loss of AQP4 was evident in about 90% of NMO lesions, especially in perivascular areas of acute inflammatory lesions where immunoglobulins and complements were deposited.

Devic mouse: a spontaneous double-transgenic mouse model of human opticospinal multiple sclerosis and autoimmune T- B cell cooperation [PDF]
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an autoimmune inflammatory disease of the central nervous system (CNS). Myelin antigen(s) specific T cells, B cells, and antibodies are thought to play a role in the pathogenesis of MS.

Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder
Over the past 13 years neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) has emerged as a discrete form of demyelinating disease of the central nervous system in which antibodies against a water channel found in high concentration on astrocytes are ...

Relapse of Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder Associated with Intravenous Lidocaine [PDF]
Lidocaine unmasks silent symptoms and eases neuropathic pain in multiple sclerosis patients; however, the effects of lidocaine in neuromyelitis optica have never been reported.

The borderland of neuromyelitis optica
Neuromyelitis optica (NMO), also known as Devic’s disease, is an emerging clinical and pathological entity originally thought to be a variant of multiple sclerosis. Characterised by episodes of demyelination confined to the optic nerve and spinal cord, the discovery in such patients of antibodies to the aquaporin-4 channel has been largely responsible ...

Apheresis therapies for NMOSD attacks : a retrospective study of 207 therapeutic interventions [PDF]
Objective: To analyze whether 1 of the 2 apheresis techniques, therapeutic plasma exchange (PE) or immunoadsorption (IA), is superior in treating neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) attacks and to identify predictive factors for complete ...
