Optical Vortices shape Optical Tornados

open access: yesOptics Express, 2023
We demonstrate that by seeding an accelerating ring-Airy beam with a finite number of off-axis optical vortices, it transforms into a Tornado wave (ToW) upon propagation. Using numerical simulations, we show that both the spiraling high-intensity lobes and the optical vortices exhibit angular acceleration and follow interwinding braid-like trajectories.

Recent Advances in Cyanobacterial Cytotoxin Biosensors Focused on Cylindrospermopsin

open access: yesChemosensors, 2023
Cylindrospermopsin (CYN) is a freshwater algal toxin produced during the proliferation of harmful cyanobacteria, known as cyanobacterial algal blooms (cyano-HABs). Recently, the effects of global warming have facilitated the growth of cyano-HABs, leading

Optical Microfiber All-Optical Phase Modulator for Fiber Optic Hydrophone [PDF]

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2021
In order to meet the needs of phase generated carrier (PGC) demodulation technology for interferometric fiber optic hydrophones, we proposed an optical microfiber all-optical phase modulator (OMAOPM) based on the photo-induced thermal phase shift effect, which can be used as a phase carrier generation component, so as to make the modulation efficiency ...
