Self‐Sustained Oscillations in MoS2 Optomechanical Resonators for VHF Optical Radio

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, Volume 7, Issue 6, June 2026.
This work demonstrates the use of 2D materials drum resonators to generate and modulate radio‐over‐laser signals. Taking advantage of the self‐sustained oscillations arising in cavity optomechanical systems by a continuous wave visible laser, a radio frequency signal is generated and frequency‐modulated by just changing a DC gate voltage.

Diffusion–Model–Driven Discovery of Ferroelectrics for Photocurrent Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 31, 4 June 2026.
We developed a diffusion model–based generative AI and high‐throughput screening framework that accelerates the discovery of photovoltaic ferroelectrics. By coupling AI driven crystal generation with machine learning and DFT screening, we identified Ca3P2 and LiCdP as new ferroelectric materials exhibiting strong polarization, feasible switching ...

Memristive Physical Reservoir Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 33, 15 June 2026.
Memristors’ nonlinear dynamics and input‐dependent memory effects make them ideal candidates for high‐performance physical reservoir computing (RC). Based on their conductance modulation, memristors can be classified as electronic or optoelectronic types.

ANALYTICAL MODEL FOR OPTICAL BISTABILITY IN LASER WITH SATURABLE ABSORBER

open access: yes, 2011
In this paper, we develop a theoretical model that accurately describes the nonlinear phenomenon of optical bistability in Fabry-Perot laser containing a saturable absorber "LSA". We present an analytical model for optical bistability in a LSA.

Stimuli‐Responsive Hydrogels for Optical Applications: Mechanisms, Architectures, and Translational Challenges

open access: yesAggregate, Volume 7, Issue 6, June 2026.
The review discusses stimuli‐responsive hydrogels as soft optical materials that translate physical, chemical, and biological cues into refractive‐index, scattering, birefringence, diffraction, and transparency changes. It examines major stimulus classes and photonic architectures for biosensing, waveguiding, adaptive lenses, smart windows, and therapy.

Quantum Nonlinear Nonreciprocity in a Cavity-Coupled Quantum Dot–Metal Nanoparticle Hybrid System

open access: yesPhotonics
Optical nonreciprocity (ONR) plays an important role in laser technique, optical communications, quantum information, etc. Realizing ONR at the quantum level of few photons or single photons is also essential for quantum communications or quantum ...

OPTICAL BISTABILITY IN A GAAS/GAALAS MULTI-QUANTUM-WELL (MQW) SELF-ELECTROOPTIC EFFECT DEVICE (SEED)

open access: yes, 1991
Based on a GaAs/GaAlAs MQW pin structure grown by a home-made MBE system, we have successfully fabricated a SEED. The optical bistability and related properties of the device under symmetric operation (S-SEED) and asymmetric operation are ...

Optical bistability and nonlinear gain in 1.55 μm VCSOA

open access: yes, 2006
An experimental observation of power and wavelength optical bistability and nonlinear gain in a 1550nm vertical-cavity semiconductor optical amplifier (VCSOA) operated in reflection and biased above and below threshold is reported.

Sleep‐like slow waves during resting‐state: A promising EEG biomarker of amyloid and neurodegeneration in preclinical Alzheimer's disease

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 22, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract INTRODUCTION Growing evidence supports a critical role of sleep slow waves (SW) in Alzheimer's disease (AD). However, wake SW (sleep‐like SW potentially reflecting local intrusions of sleep) remain unexplored in AD. METHODS A total of 274 older adults with subjective cognitive decline (SCD) (INSIGHT‐preAD cohort, 76.6 ± 3.5 years) underwent (i)
