Multi-granular Stream Optical Burst Switching

2006 3rd International Conference on Broadband Communications, Networks and Systems, 2006
This paper presents a novel architecture of multi-granular stream optical burst switching (MGS-OBS), which enables an all-optical network to support sub-wavelength streaming traffic of diverse bandwidth granularities with guaranteed end-to-end delay and data loss rate.

Evaluation of burst retransmission in optical burst-switched networks

2nd International Conference on Broadband Networks, 2005., 2005
In this paper, we evaluate the performance of a burst retransmission scheme in which the bursts lost due to contentions in an OBS network are retransmitted at the OBS layer. The retransmission scheme aims to reduce burst loss probability in OBS networks.

Performance enhancement of optical burst switching using burst segmentation

IEEE International Conference on Communications, 2003. ICC '03., 2004
In this paper we provide an analytical framework for studying the performance of Optical Burst Switching (OBS) networks using Burst Segmentation. We first consider a single link model to evaluate the blocking probability of OBS using Burst Segmentation and confirm it by simulation.

A burst assembly algorithm in optical burst switching networks

Optical Fiber Communication Conference and Exhibit, 2002
The proposed algorithm changes the data burst size adaptively in accordance with the offered load and offers high average data burst utilization with less timer operation. It also offers high average data burst utilization as burstiness increases which reduces the probability of continuous blocking problem in the bandwidth reservation request. Finally,

Optical Packet and Burst-Switched Networks

2021
Abstract In order to address poor bandwidth-utilization in circuit-switched WRONs, various techniques for optical packet-switching (OPS) have been explored, but needing complex technologies, such as real-time header extraction/insertion, packet alignment, etc.
