Complete‐coverage path planning for surface inspection of cable‐stayed bridge tower based on building information models and climbing robots

open access: yesComputer-Aided Civil and Infrastructure Engineering, Volume 40, Issue 25, Page 4149-4171, 20 October 2025.
Abstract Climbing robots present transformative potential for automated structural inspections, yet their deployment remains limited by the reliance on manual control due to the absence of effective environment perception and path‐planning solutions.

Content Aware Burst Assembly - Supporting Telesurgery and Telemedicine in Optical Burst Switching Networks [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Systemics, Cybernetics and Informatics, 2010
The emerging Telemedicine and Telesurgery technologies allow patients to share medical experts remotely through communication networks. However, network bandwidth, network latency and jitter (variation of latency), are the obstacles to the widespread use

A batch-service queueing model with a discrete batch Markovian arrival process [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Queueing systems with batch service have been investigated extensively during the past decades. However, nearly all the studied models share the common feature that an uncorrelated arrival process is considered, which is unrealistic in several real-life ...

A Nonessential Corporate Social Responsibility Reorientation: The Woke‐Washing Phenomenon in Victoria's Secret's Transformation

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, Volume 32, Issue 5, Page 6362-6376, September 2025.
ABSTRACT In markets that prioritize Corporate Social Responsibility, brands frequently encounter pressure to adopt socially progressive values. Victoria's Secret's recent shift toward inclusivity exemplifies how rapid moral repositioning can elicit skepticism and accusations of “woke‐washing.” Despite extensive research on brand authenticity, consumer ...

Performance Study of OBS Combined Node via Mixed Loss Delay Queueing Systems [PDF]

open access: yesMehran University Research Journal of Engineering and Technology, 2014
In this paper, we present a performance study of OBS (Optical Burst Switched) combined node via mixed loss delay queueing models. In an OBS network, a node combining both edge and core switching functions multiplex the local traffic with the transit ...

A Priority Based Optical Header Contention Resolution in Optical Burst Switching Networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
OBS is a promising switching paradigm for the next-generation Internet. In OBS, data packets are assembled into variable size data burst which are transmitted optically over Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing(DWDM)networks without O/E/O conversion ...

Volcanic Facies From Probabilistic Multi‐Physics Characterization of an Andesite Island Volcano, Whakaari/White Island, New Zealand

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 26, Issue 7, July 2025.
Abstract Collapse of hydrothermally weakened rock on the flanks of volcanic islands is a recognized cause of tsunamis generated by volcanoes. Here we use a multiphysics clustering method to derive a volcanic facies model for Whakaari/White Island, an andesite arc volcanic island in New Zealand.

A Node-Regulated Deflection Routing Framework for Contention Minimization

open access: yesJournal of Computer Networks and Communications, 2020
Optical Burst Switching (OBS) paradigm coupled with Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) has become a practical candidate solution for the next-generation optical backbone networks. In its practical deployment only the edge nodes are provisioned

Characterizing the Atacama Segment of the Chile Subduction Margin (24°S–31°S) With >165,000 Earthquakes

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 130, Issue 7, July 2025.
Abstract The Atacama segment in Northern Chile (24°S to 31°S) is a mature seismic gap with no major event (Mw ≥ 8) since 1922. In addition to regular seismicity, around the subducting Copiapó ridge, the region hosts seismic swarms, and shallow and deep slow slip events.
