Influence of Camera Framerate Variations on an Optical Camera Communication System

2021 44th International Conference on Telecommunications and Signal Processing (TSP), 2021
Light Emitting Diodes (LED) equipment is used primarily just for lighting, but Visible Light Communication (VLC) is a new research domain that uses existing LED infrastructure for transmitting data, intelligent road traffic signaling, positioning, guiding inside buildings, etc.

Optical Camera Communication: Motion over Camera

IEEE Communications Magazine, 2017
OCC is a pragmatic version of VLC based on a smart device camera that allows easier implementation of various services in smart devices. This article presents a flexible and novel motion detection scheme over a smart device camera in OCC. The motion detection is conducted in conjunction with a static downlink optical camera communication, where a ...

RainbowRow: Fast Optical Camera Communication

2020 IEEE 28th International Conference on Network Protocols (ICNP), 2020
Thanks to the popularity of smartphones, optical camera communication (OCC) gains more and more attention from markets and research as one of the new internetworking architectures in the future. However, existing OCC modulations treat the signal from the transmitter as a single point light source, which sacrifices the spatial diversity and limits the ...

The Impact of Camera Parameters on Optical Camera Communication

2019 International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Information and Communication (ICAIIC), 2019
Unlike visible light communication (VLC) using photo detector, optical camera communication (OCC) employs an image sensor as the receiver. In this paper, we discuss the parameter of rolling shutter camera (focal length, FOV, rolling rate, frame rate) which impact to the data rate of optical camera communication system.

Near-Infrared based Optical Camera Communications

2022 13th International Symposium on Communication Systems, Networks and Digital Signal Processing (CSNDSP), 2022
We report, for the first time in the literature, an optical camera communications (OCC) link leveraging a near-infrared band at a wavelength of 850 nm that is visible to a standard camera and undetectable by the human eye. An experimental test-bed is developed and evaluated for the proposed system.

A Simplified System Model for Optical Camera Communication

2021 IEEE/CIC International Conference on Communications in China (ICCC), 2021
Data rate and communication distance are two important criteria for measuring the performance of optical camera communication (OCC) systems. Intensive researches have been made to find possible solutions to improve these two performance indicators. However, most existing literature either provides solutions which closely related to the experimental ...

Radiometric and geometric camera model for Optical Camera Communications

2015 Seventh International Conference on Ubiquitous and Future Networks, 2015
When an object projected on a camera, the shape of the projected object image is governed by the relative position and orientation between object and camera. On the other hand, object radiance, viewing angle and distance at the time of taking picture determine the image brightness of an object.

Synchronization issue for optical camera communications

2015 Seventh International Conference on Ubiquitous and Future Networks, 2015
When mentioning about camera, we just think about the picture characteristics such the quality, the resolution. Besides, it will be also the promising technique for communication issue which can be called as optical wireless communication (OWC). The research about OWC has been pushed from these years.
