Optical character recognition for cursive handwriting
IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, 2002A new analytic scheme, which uses a sequence of image segmentation and recognition algorithms, is proposed for the off-line cursive handwriting recognition problem. First, some global parameters, such as slant angle, baselines, stroke width and height, are estimated.

Space-variant optical character recognition

Motion deblurring for optical character recognition
Eighth International Conference on Document Analysis and Recognition (ICDAR'05), 2005This paper investigates the problem of blurring caused by motion during image capture of text documents. Motion blurring prevents proper optical character recognition of the document text contents. One area of such applications is to deblur name card images obtained from handheld cameras.
