Integrated Optics in Optical Communication Systems

Optical waveguide circuit devices are widely used in access, metro and long haul optical communication systems. This talk reviews the features of silica waveguides and commercialized devices such as wavelength multi/demultiplexers and optical switches. State-of-the-art integrated devices for ultra high-speed coherent transmission are also introduced.
