Excitonic Emission Modulation in GaSe/MoS2 Van Der Waals Heterostructure Via Plasmonic Control of Interlayer Charge Transfer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Plasmonic hybridization enables control of light emission in 2D van der Waals heterojunctions. By stacking multilayer GaSe and monolayer MoS2 on a silver film, light emission is enhanced at the edges due to plasmonic effects. In the center, where these effects are absent, charge transfer led to reduced light emission.

Polarization compensator for optical communications [PDF]

open access: yes, 1976
An optical data communication system is provided whereby two orthogonal polarization states of a light beam carrier correspond to digital states. In such a system, automatic polarization compensation is provided by applying a dither modulating voltage to

Laser Frequency Combs for Coherent Optical Communications

open access: yesJournal of Lightwave Technology, 2019
Laser frequency combs with repetition rates on the order of 10 GHz and higher can be used as multi-carrier sources in wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM). They allow replacing tens of tunable continuous-wave lasers by a single laser source.
