Effective optical constants in stratified metal-dielectric metameterial

open access: yes, 2007
We present effective optical constants of stratified metal-dielectric metameterial. The effective constants are determined by two complex reflectivity method (TCRM).

Observation of Interaction of Spin and Intrinsic Orbital Angular Momentum of Light [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Interaction of spin and intrinsic orbital angular momentum of light is observed, as evidenced by length-dependent rotations of both spatial patterns and optical polarization in a cylindrically-symmetric isotropic optical fiber.

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Retrieval of Photometric Parameters of Minerals Using a Self-Made Multi-Angle Spectrometer Based on the Hapke Radiative Transfer Model

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2021
In this paper, a self-made, mineral, multi-angle, spectrum measurement device is employed to measure the multi-angle spectra of olivine and plagioclase; the multi-angle spectra of ilmenite in the Reflectance Experiment Laboratory (RELAB) Spectral Library

PARP inhibitors induce a senescence phenotype in non‐small cell lung carcinoma cell lines

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Talazoparib is the most potent inducer of senescence among different PARP1 inhibitors in human NSCLC cells. In the absence of PARP, no senescence phenotype was observed, demonstrating that PARP1 is necessary for the induction of senescence by this inhibitor.

Effect of Thickness on Structural and Optical Properties of Tetra-tert- butyl-2, 3-naphthalocyanine Thin Films

open access: yesE-Journal of Chemistry, 2011
Amorphous tetra-tert-butyl-2, 3-naphthalocyanine thin films have been deposited using physical vapor deposition technique under a varied thickness by adjusting the coating time.

Measured optical constants of Pd77.5Cu6Si16.5 bulk metallic glass

open access: yesOptical Materials: X, 2019
Optical constants of Pd77.5Cu6Si16.5 alloy were determined experimentally using spectroscopic ellipsometry measurements on bulk specimens. Values of the complex refractive index of the glassy metallic alloys are compared to their crystalline counterparts

Phase-matchable nonlinear optical interactions in periodic thin films [PDF]

open access: yes, 1972
A proposal for a new method of phase matching in nonlinear optical interactions is made. A periodic perturbation of the surface of a thin-film waveguide generates space harmonics with new propagation constants which can be phase matched.

Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...

Optical Constants of Ices Important to Planetary Science from Laboratory Reflectance Spectroscopy

open access: yesThe Planetary Science Journal
Laboratory-derived optical constants are essential for identifying ices and measuring their relative abundances on solar system objects. Almost all optical constants of ices important to planetary science come from experiments with transmission ...
