Side-Detecting Optical Fiber Doped with Tb3+ for Ultraviolet Sensor Application
In the article a novel construction of a side-detecting luminescent optical fiber for an UV sensor application has been presented. In the fiber, structure phosphate glass doped with 0.5 mol% Tb3+ ions was used as a UV sensitive core/ribbon.

In this work, we demonstrate the implementation of a nonreciprocal perfect absorber (NPA) made of composite magnetic metamaterials (MMs) consisting of an array of dielectric core loaded (DCL) ferrite rods with either hollow or dielectric cores.

Nuclear-optical converters for detecting intense neutron [PDF]
In the design of nuclear-optical converters (NOC) for detecting intense neutron fields (fluxes over 1015 cm–2·s–1), it is proposed to use hybrid gas ionization chambers (IC), in which electrical and optical neutron detecting methods are combined.

Generation of diffraction-free petallike beams based on stationary phase principle
Lately, a kind of so-called “combined half-integer Bessel-like beams,” in which their subfamilies include radial carpet, petallike, and ringlike vortex beams, has been generated using a radial periodic grating.

Manipulating self-focusing beams induced by high-dimensional parabolic umbilic beams
The excellent property that the intensity of autofocusing beams in the focal plane increases exponentially, makes them especially beneficial for biomedical treatment.

Nonreciprocal Fano resonance enhanced unidirectional scattering by subwavelength magnetic meta-atoms
Superscattering effect of subwavelength particles has been intensively investigated due to the broad range of potential applications and the crucial role in understanding light–matter interactions, which is usually achieved by the superposition of ...

Quantum Phase Transitions in a Generalized Dicke Model
We investigate a generalized Dicke model by introducing two interacting spin ensembles coupled with a single-mode bosonic field. Apart from the normal to superradiant phase transition induced by the strong spin–boson coupling, interactions between the ...
