Optical devices in laparoscopic surgery comprised a telescope (0-30-45 degree telescopes), a light source, a light cable, a camera, and a monitor. All play an essential role from the beginning to the end of the procedure. The outcome of a suitable laparoscopic procedure depends on optical devices. The telescope used may have 0-3-45 degree view.

Optical device with excitatory and inhibitory optical outputs
Optics Letters, 1996We propose a novel optical device that can produce either an excitatory or an inhibitory optical output, depending on the state of the device. The state depends on the previous optical input. The device is expected to possess novel bistable characteristics useful for implementation of an all-optical neuron.

Cost-effectiveness is essential in developing optical access network systems. To reduce system costs, both improved system and component technologies are required. Reducing the costs of optical devices and modules in an optical network unit is especially necessary.

Numerical simulation of optical devices
IEEE Transactions on Computer-Aided Design of Integrated Circuits and Systems, 1993The description of the optical-generation phenomena has been incorporated in the semiconductor-device analysis program HFIELDS, keeping the structural and geometrical flexibility of the original code. To this end a substantial effort has been devoted to the software implementation. The latter required the introduction of a number of optical windows and

Optic Canal Positioning Device
Radiology, 1970Abstract The optic canal must De piacea at a right angle to the film for accurate roentgenography. The necessary angle is difficult to achieve without the aid of a positioning device. The authors describe an instrument developed for this purpose and explain the procedure involved in its use.

Optically controlled microwave devices
International Topical Meeting on Microwave Photonics. MWP '96 Technical Digest. Satellite Workshop (Cat. No.96TH8153), 2002In this paper, a review is given of recent advances in optically controlled microwave and millimeter wave devices and circuits. Special emphasis will firstly be laid on the physical background of optical effects in semiconductor materials and structures.

Electro-Optic and Optical Devices
1999Electro-optic (E/O) and optical devices based on CPs which are discussed in this chapter can be usefully classified into three categories 1) Those based on second order nonlinear optical (NLO) properties. 2) Those based on 3rd order NLO properties. 3) Those based on properties other than NLO.

Disorientated optical polarization devices
Optics Letters, 2011By using a pure operatorial (nonmatrix) approach to some of the variable composite polarization devices, we show that for some values of the variable internal parameters, these devices lose their anisotropy. Their principal axes, or more generally their eigenvectors, become undetermined, i.e., in this sense, the anisotropic devices get "disorientated."
