All-optical pulse processing for advanced photonic communication system [PDF]
This paper investigates the use of a two-photon absorption photodetector for high speed processing of ultrashort optical pulses in advanced photonic communication systems. Specifically the paper describes how the two-photon absorption photodetector maybe

Optical Waveguide Enhanced Photovoltaics
Enhanced light to electric power conversion efficiency of photovoltaic cells with a low absorbance was achieved using waveguide integration. We present a proof of concept using a very thin dye-sensitized solar cell which absorbed only a small fraction of the light at normal incidence.

Wavelength-dependent optical enhancement of superconducting interlayer coupling in La1.885Ba0.115CuO4 [PDF]
We analyze the pump wavelength dependence for the photo-induced enhancement of interlayer coupling in La1.885Ba0.115CuO4, which is promoted by optical melting of the stripe order. In the equilibrium superconducting state (T < TC = 13 K), in which stripes

Revising quantum optical phenomena in adatoms coupled to graphene nanoantennas
Graphene flakes acting as photonic nanoantennas may sustain strong electromagnetic field localization and enhancement. To exploit the field enhancement, quantum emitters such as atoms or molecules should be positioned in such close proximity to the flake

Hybrid Dissipative and Dispersive Optomechanically Induced Transparency
Traditionally, the optical interference and energy conversion could be modulated by dissipation and dispersion in nonlinear optomechanical systems. Here, in this article, we study the enhancement of dissipative coupling on transparency under generalized ...

Optical Antennas for Enhanced Efficiency
High efficiency solutions for photovoltaics requires taking advantage of IR photons energy. Possible solutions are based on up-conversion processes which have a low cross section. We will discuss different solutions to enhance the absorption.
