A Fusion Approach for Multi-Frame Optical Flow Estimation
To date, top-performing optical flow estimation methods only take pairs of consecutive frames into account. While elegant and appealing, the idea of using more than two frames has not yet produced state-of-the-art results.

Dapagliflozin prevents methylglyoxal‐induced retinal cell death in ARPE‐19 cells
Diabetic macular oedema is a diabetes complication of the eye, which may lead to permanent blindness. ARPE‐19 are human retinal cells used to study retinal diseases and potential therapeutics. Methylglyoxal is a compound increased in uncontrolled diabetes due to elevated blood glucose.

Local image structures and optic flow estimation
Different kinds of local image structures (such as homogeneous, edge-like and junction-like patches) can be distinguished by the intrinsic dimensionality of the local signals. Intrinsic dimensionality makes use of variance from a point and a line in spectral representation of the signal in order to classify it as homogeneous, edge-like or junction-like.

Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Deep Panoramic Optical Flow Estimation
<p>Panoramic videos, or omnidirectional videos, have become increasingly popular as they are able to provide viewers with an immersive watching experience. Unlike the 2D planar videos, panoramic videos are defined on a spherical domain. They are normally transformed by equirectangular projection to provide a seamless 360° representation. However,

FIB/SEM tomography segmentation by optical flow estimation
Focused ion beam/scanning electron microscopy tomography (FIB/SEM tomography) is the method of choice for the tomographic reconstruction of mesoporous materials systems in various fields such as batteries, fuel cells, filter applications or composite materials.

This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Abruptly changing from aerobic to anaerobic conditions (sudden anaerobization) induced growth inhibition and a significant increase in intracellular labile ferrous iron in the aerotolerant anaerobe Amphibacillus xylanus. We found that free flavins mediate efficient electron transfer from NADH to ferric iron under anaerobic conditions, suggesting that ...

Lessons Learned From a Delayed‐Start Trial of Modafinil for Freezing of Gait in Parkinson's Disease
ABSTRACT Objective Freezing of gait (FOG) in people with Parkinson's disease (PwPD) is debilitating and has limited treatments. Modafinil modulates beta/gamma band activity in the pedunculopontine nucleus (PPN), like PPN deep brain stimulation. We therefore tested the hypothesis that Modafinil would improve FOG in PwPD.
