Common optical SCM label technologies for optical label switching network
SPIE Proceedings, 2004A new optical label scheme called Common optical SCM (Subcarrier Multiplexing) label method is proposed. The label paths are consisting of multiplex SCM paths with SCM/WDM technology, which separate from the data wavelength paths. These label paths are parallel and shared for any data wavelength path.

Demonstration of Optical Label Swapping using Optical Comb for DWDM Optical Label Switching Networks
Asia Communications and Photonics Conference 2016, 2016In this paper, a novel cost-effective all-optical label swapping scheme based on optical comb is proposed and experimentally demonstrated for dense wavelength-division-multiplexing (DWDM) optical label switching networks. The cost and power consumption are also investigated.

Optical Properties of Fluorescein‐labeled Organoclay
Photochemistry and Photobiology, 2010AbstractWe report the preparation of aminopropyl‐functionalized magnesium phyllosilicate (Mg‐organoclay) conjugated to fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC) functionality (FITC‐organoclay) by one‐pot sol‐gel synthesis. The physical characteristics of the Mg‐ and FITC‐organoclays were examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X‐ray diffraction (XRD ...

Optical label detection using optical interleavers
Proceedings of 2005 7th International Conference Transparent Optical Networks, 2005., 2005We propose a novel and simple technique for the detection of subcarrier-multiplexed (SCM) labels using optical interleavers in optical label switching networks. 155-Mb/s ASK modulated 10-GHz SCM labels have been extracted successfully with an insertion loss of less than 0.4 dB by using 10-GHz optical interleavers.

Time-Stacked Optical Labels: An Alternative to Label-Swapping
OFC/NFOEC 2008 - 2008 Conference on Optical Fiber Communication/National Fiber Optic Engineers Conference, 2008We propose a simple, practical approach to eliminate complex label-swapping in label-switched networks: time-stacked multi-wavelength labels. We demonstrate experimentally a two-hop optical network and measure BER performance. Label processing is achieved with low-complexity, off-the-shelf commercial components.

<title>Optical label processing in optical label swapping networks</title>
SPIE Proceedings, 2002Optical label processing including optical SCM label reading, writing, erasing and transmitting is discussed in this paper. Optical erasing based on a proposed Lylot-Sagnac filter is investigated experimentally. And transmission performance of the SCM label is also analyzed.

A space-diversity optical labeling scheme with optical labels derived from ASE noise
2009 7th International Conference on Information, Communications and Signal Processing (ICICS), 2009We propose an optical labeling scheme whereby the optical label and payload are transmitted separately on two different fibers that carry bidirectional traffic. This eliminates the complex optical label and payload separation and combination processes which are usually required at the intermediate optical switching nodes.

Strategies for Label-Free Optical Detection
2007A large number of methods using direct detection with label-free systems are known. They compete with the well-introduced fluorescence-based methods. However, recent applications take advantage of label-free detection in protein-protein interactions, high-throughput screening, and high-content screening.

A novel optical label swapping technique using erasable optical single-sideband subcarrier label
IEEE Photonics Technology Letters, 2000To support optical multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) technology in an optical network, we have demonstrated subcarrier label swapping in a 96.2 km, three-node experiment, by using optical single-sideband modulation and an optical notch filter. At each intermediate switching node, an old subcarrier label can be suppressed by 25 dB, while the 2.5 Gb/s

An optical FSK-based label coding technique for the realization of the all-optical label swapping
IEEE Photonics Technology Letters, 2002A new approach on optical label encoding for the realization of the all-optical label swapping in transparent optical packet switched networks is proposed and tested via simulation. The proposed method is based on the combination of the optical frequency shift keying (OFSK) modulated label with the on-off keying (OOK) modulated payload on the same ...
