Polyconvexification of the multi-label optical flow problem

2010 IEEE International Conference on Image Processing, 2010
In this paper the problem of optical flow and occlusion mask estimation is aborded. To that end, we consider a multi-label representation of the optical flow and we define an energy that models the problem. The convexification of the energy and its minimization with an iterative algorithm are studied.

Optical subcarrier label swapping by semiconductor optical amplifiers

Journal of Lightwave Technology, 2003
The semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) can be used as an efficient high-speed modulator. This paper presents optical subcarrier multiplexed label swapping/reinsertion utilizing this device associated to the wavelength converter block in packet-switched all-optical networks. For that purpose, the modulation response and nonlinear behavior of SOAs are

All-optical SCM-to-TDM label format converters for interoperating optical-label switching networks

OFC/NFOEC Technical Digest. Optical Fiber Communication Conference, 2005., 2005
We propose and demonstrate all-optical label-encoding format conversion from subcarrier-multiplexing to time-domain-multiplexing for 156.25 Mb/s labels and 10 Gb/s payload. The experiments show error-free operations with only 0.41 dB normalized power penalty for the payload.

All-optical label processing in optical packet switched networks

Optical Fiber Communication Conference, 2010
We present a data-format transparent all-optical label processing system suitable for photonic integration that requires N active device to process 2N addresses. We demonstrate errorfree all-optical packet switch with label swapping operation at 160 Gb/s.

Flexible-rate optical packet generation/detection and label swapping for optical label switching networks

Optical Fiber Technology, 2017
Abstract In recent years, optical label switching (OLS) gains lots of attentions due to its intrinsic advantages to implement protocol, bit-rate, granularity and data format transparency packet switching. In this paper, we propose a novel scheme to realize flexible-rate optical packet switching for OLS networks. At the transmitter node, flexible-rate

Transmission performance of the SCM label in optical label switching networks

Optics Communications, 2007
We have investigated the transmission performance of the label signal in the optical double sideband subcarrier multiplexing (DSB-SCM) label switching link and clarified that the degradation of the label signal results from the fiber chromatic dispersion and the incomplete filtering out of the payload carrier.

Optical devices for label-free detection

2010 9th Euro-American Workshop on Information Optics, 2010
Innovation in technology routinely leads the way for discovery in chemistry and biology. Most notably, x-ray diffraction data was instrumental in the elucidation of the structure of DNA. To explore the inherent complexity present in biological systems, existing technologies are being pushed to their limits.

Optical packet switching with multi-optical-codes label

Proceedings of the 2008 International Conference on Advanced Infocomm Technology - ICAIT '08, 2008
In the traditional scheme of optical packet switching with optical-code (OC) label, the label is represented by one optical code. The capacity of label is limited by the total available number of optical codes in the same set. For expanding the label number to guarantee the network operation, the code length is required to be increased incredibly but ...

Optical labelling through parametric amplification

2011 13th International Conference on Transparent Optical Networks, 2011
A new all-optical technique to label on-off keyed (OOK) payload signals is experimentally analysed. Such all-optical operation is accomplished by using a fibre optical parametric amplifier (FOPA) with the pump modulated by label information to amplify the OOK payload; as a result, the signal at the output of the FOPA becomes a ternary-amplitude optical

Adaptive optical label packet switching

SPIE Proceedings, 2007
This paper introduces a kind of Adaptive Optical Label Packet Switching (AOLPS) technology. Based on Optical Packet Switching (OPS), AOLPS uses optical label to achieve self-routing, and the size of optical packet is self-adaptive. At the edge nodes, IP packets are fist classified into different first-in-fist-out memories (FIFOs) according to their
