Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

Investigation of production routes for various radioisotopes and their excitation function studies significant to PET technology

open access: yesJournal of Taibah University for Science
Excitation functions for the production route of light non-metallic radioisotopes 11C, 13N, 15O and 18F and metallic radioisotope 64Cu are evaluated using the statistical model code EMPIRE-3.2.

Nonlinear optical components for all-optical probabilistic graphical model

open access: yesNature Communications, 2018
To circumvent the limitations of electronic computers, moving to hybrid optical-electronic or all-optical devices may be useful. Here, Babaeian et al. present an all-optical implementation of the probabilistic graphical model using nonlinear optics in ...

Improved AWG Fourier optics model

open access: yesOptics Express, 2004
In this paper we present an improved Fourier Optics model to calculate the transmission characteristics between any arbitrary pair of input/output ports (IOPs) of an Arrayed Waveguide Grating (AWG). In this model the input and output sections of the AWG are modeled using the same approximations, thus removing some reciprocity-related inconsistencies ...

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Optical excess of dim isolated neutron stars

open access: yes, 2017
The optical excess in the spectra of dim isolated neutron stars (XDINs) is a significant fraction of their rotational energy loss-rate. This is strikingly different from the situation in isolated radio pulsars.

NKCC1: A key regulator of glioblastoma progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioblastoma (GBM) progression is driven by disrupted chloride cotransporter homeostasis. NKCC1 is highly expressed in stem‐like, astrocytic, and progenitor cells, correlating with earlier recurrence, while overall survival remains unaffected. NKCC1 serves as a prognostic marker and potential therapeutic target, linking chloride transporter imbalance ...

Three-Dimension Calculation for the Scattering Problem for Non-Spherical Potential

open access: yesPhysics
The interaction of the 238U with a neutron is studied. Correct accounting for the non-spherical shape of the uranium nucleus is in focus. The optical potential is used as a model.

An HCMT model of optical microring-resonators [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Analytical modes of the bus and cavity cores are combined into a 2-D hybrid analytical / numerical coupled mode theory (HCMT) model of integrated optical ring-resonators. The variational technique generates 1-D FEM-discretized solutions for the amplitude
