Multiple Hypothesis Tracking for Automatic Optical Motion Capture [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We present a technique for performing the tracking stage of optical motion capture which retains, at each time frame, multiple marker association hypotheses and estimates of the subject's position. Central to this technique are the equations for calculating the likelihood of a sequence of association hypotheses, which we develop using a Bayesian ...

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Self-Calibrating Magnetometer-Free Inertial Motion Tracking of 2-DoF Joints

open access: yesSensors, 2022
Human motion analysis using inertial measurement units (IMUs) has recently been shown to provide accuracy similar to the gold standard, optical motion capture, but at lower costs and while being less restrictive and time-consuming.

IMU gyroscopes are a valid alternative to 3D optical motion capture system for angular kinematics analysis in tennis

open access: yes, 2020
Whereas 3D optical motion capture (OMC) systems are considered the gold standard for kinematic assessment in sport science, they present some drawbacks that limit its use in the field.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Application of the Motion Capture System to Estimate the Accuracy of a Wheeled Mobile Robot Localization

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
The paper presents research on methods of a wheeled mobile robot localization using an optical motion capture system. The results of localization based on the model of forward kinematics and odometric measurements were compared. A pure pursuit controller

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Capture Dynamics of Dielectric Microparticles in Hollow-Core-Fiber-Based Optical Traps

open access: yesPhotonics, 2023
Optical traps formed in hollow-core fibers (HCFs) can overcome several limitations of conventional free-space optical tweezers. One of the key issues is to load particles from free space into the hollow core with high efficiency, in which process the ...

Markerless Optical Motion Capture System for Asymmetrical Swimming Stroke

open access: yesJournal of Engineering and Technological Sciences, 2022
This work presents the development of a markerless optical motion capture system of the front-crawl swimming stroke. The system only uses one underwater camera to record swimming motion in the sagittal plane. The participant in this experiment was a swimmer who is active in the university’s swimming club.
