Using shared wavelength converters effectively in optical switching [PDF]
As internet traffic will further increase in coming years, the current network infrastructure will have to grow along in terms of capacity. To this end, optical packet/burst switching have been proposed, allowing more efficient use of the available fiber

A series of ACHPES‐based hydrogels are developed and realizing multiple functions like anti‐fouling properties, alkali‐induced color/fluorescence‐changing ability and strain sensing. Furthermore, the hydrogels show excellent anti‐freezing performance, whose optical, mechanical and electrical properties remain stable at −47.3 °C.

A scalable method for direct laser patterning of 2D films on transparent substrates like polycarbonate and glass is presented. This technique eliminates the need for photolithography and solvents, enabling the fabrication of functional devices like strain gauges, supercapacitors, and photodetector arrays.

Designing for Degradation: Transient Devices Enabled by (Nano)Cellulose
Recent progress in transient devices enabled by (nano)cellulosic materials is reviewed. Transiency mechanisms, advantages of nanocelluloses, and a suite of applications are discussed. A circular thinking approach coupled with life cycle assessment is applied to critically revisit the potential, advantages, and challenges of nanocellulose‐enabled ...
