Effectiveness of Sustainability Rating Scales in Dual‐Labeling: The Role of Eco‐Label Familiarity in Consumer Responses

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Eco‐labels and sustainability rating scales are widely used to communicate product sustainability, yet it remains unclear whether combining these signals enhances or undermines consumer responses. Drawing on signaling theory, this study examines how eco‐label familiarity and the presence of a sustainability rating scale jointly shape consumer ...

Metallic–Dissolution Triggered Defective NiCoAl‐CuO Electrocatalyst for Enhanced Ethanol Oxidation Reaction With Precisely Tuned Reaction Pathway

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
Metallic dissolution triggers Al/O vacancies in NiCoAl–CuO, steering C2‐selective ethanol oxidation to acetate. Hybrid electrolysis co‐produces hydrogen and acetate with high efficiency and reduced cell voltage. ABSTRACT Replacing the sluggish anodic oxygen evolution reaction (OER) with value‐added processes like the ethanol oxidation reaction (EOR ...

Formic‐Acid In Situ Hydrogen Enables Programmable Ru–Pd–Pt/C Trimetallic Interfaces for Durable Acidic HER

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
Bamboo diaphragm−derived carbon is used as a support to prepare Ru–Pd–Pt/C catalysts through a stepwise reduction strategy. The Ru–Pd interface promotes formic acid activation and induces Pt deposition. The metallic interface of Ru–Pd–Pt/C enables H* generation, transfer, and recombination, thereby improving Pt utilization, acidic HER activity, and PEM

Applications of Biomaterials in Separators for Secondary Batteries

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
In this review, biomaterial‐based separators are reviewed as sustainable alternatives to conventional polyolefin‐based separators. For 12 different natural polymers, spanning from Protista, Plantae, and Animalia, viable strategies for synthesizing biomass‐based separators are described.
