Barium fluoride whispering-gallery-mode disk-resonator with one billion quality-factor
We demonstrate a monolithic optical whispering gallery mode resonator fabricated with barium fluoride (BaF$_2$) with an ultra-high quality ($Q$) factor above $10^9$ at $1550$ nm, and measured with both the linewidth and cavity-ring-down methods. Vertical

Coupled optical resonance laser locking
We have demonstrated simultaneous laser frequency stabilization of a UV and IR laser, to the same spectroscopic sample, by monitoring only the absorption of the UV laser. For trapping and cooling Yb$^{+}$ ions, a frequency stabilized laser is required at 369.95nm to drive the $^{2}S_{1/2}$ $ \rightarrow $ $ ^{2}P_{1/2}$ cooling transition.

Network Localization of Fatigue in Multiple Sclerosis
ABSTRACT Background Fatigue is among the most common symptoms and one of the main factors determining the quality of life in multiple sclerosis (MS). However, the neurobiological mechanisms underlying fatigue are not fully understood. Here we studied lesion locations and their connections in individuals with MS, aiming to identify brain networks ...

Air-coupled ultrasound detection using capillary-based optical ring resonators
We experimentally demonstrate and theoretically analyze high Q-factor (~107) capillary-based optical ring resonators for non-contact detection of air-coupled ultrasound. Noise equivalent pressures in air as low as 215 mPa/√Hz and 41 mPa/√Hz at 50 kHz and

ABSTRACT Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder (NMOSD) is a chronic autoimmune neuroinflammatory disease, typically characterized by antibodies against aquaporin 4 (AQP4‐IgG) or myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG‐IgG). Simultaneous seropositivity for both antibodies in a single patient is exceedingly rare.

Balancing detectivity and sensitivity of plasmonic sensors with surface lattice resonance
Resonators are at the core of optical sensors enhancing light–analyte interaction and leading to higher sensitivities. Maximizing the sensitivity is an obvious objective function for the resonator design.

ABSTRACT Objective Accurate localization of epileptogenic tubers (ETs) in patients with tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) is essential but challenging, as these tubers lack distinct pathological or genetic markers to differentiate them from other cortical tubers.
