Impact of respiratory motion on dose distribution in SIB‐SBRT for lung cancer

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose Respiratory motion is a major source of dose uncertainty in lung cancer radiotherapy. The dose distribution of simultaneous integrated boost‐stereotactic body radiotherapy (SIB‐SBRT) is inhomogeneous and is significantly impacted by respiratory motion for lung cancer. The effect of respiratory motion on SIB‐SBRT was investigated with a

Design of Positioning Mechanism Fit Clearances Based on On-Orbit Re-Orientation Accuracy

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
The factors affecting the re-orientation accuracy of the on-orbit replaceable optical unit were studied, and the mathematical models of the relationships between fit clearances of positioning mechanisms and the limits of rotation angles were deduced ...

Cortical Excitability Before and After Long‐Term Perampanel Treatment for Epilepsy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Antiseizure medications (ASMs), which may influence cortical excitability, are the mainstay of epilepsy treatment. Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) helps evaluate cortical excitability. We assessed changes in TMS responses using serial TMS measurements in people treated with an adjunctive noncompetitive AMPA‐receptor ...

Very large optical rotation generated by Rb vapor in a multi-pass cell [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2011
Paramagnetic Faraday rotation is a powerful technique for atom sensing widely used in quantum non-demolition measurements, fundamental symmetry tests, and other precision measurements. We demonstrate the use of a multi-pass optical cell for Faraday rotation spectroscopy and observe polarization rotation in excess of 100 radians from spin-polarized Rb ...

RhoA and Rac1 as Mechanotransduction Mediators in Colorectal Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
Analysing RhoA and Rac1 protein levels in Colorectal cancer (CRC) samples under mechanical strain highlights their potential as diagnostic markers. Monitoring their activity could offer valuable insights into how cancer spreads, paving the way for new approaches to better understand and diagnose colorectal cancer.

Mechanisms of Increasing Weld Depth during Temporal Power Modulation in High‐Power Laser Beam Welding

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Temporal power modulation increases weld depth in high‐power laser beam welding of dissimilar round bars by nearly 20% compared to same average continuously welded welding power. The mechanism of action also applies to sheet welding and depends on the inertia of keyhole depth for the modulated laser beam power.
